Problem Resolved

Along with giving up smoking, losing weight and saving money, hopping on the wagon and cutting down on the drink ranks right up the pointy end of our most popular New Years resolutions. The problem with resolutions though, is that while they serve as a brilliant form of instant self-redemption at 12.03am on January 1st, rarely do we stick to them much beyond about 5.17pm the following Friday. Perhaps we’re setting the bar a wee bit high? Perhaps our traditional resolutions are a tad ambitious? Perhaps quantity isn’t the real issue here? Perhaps this year we shouldn’t resolve to drink less - just better.

There are numerous ways to improve your overall wine experience, and glassware is an obvious place to start. The right glassware can mean the difference between a good glass of wine and a great one. Designed in Australia and manufactured to the highest international standards, the Plumm range of wine glasses is all about simplicity, practicality and affordability. It’s not rocket science, but if you care about what you drink, then you should also care about what you drink from.

But the effort doesn’t end there. Once a week, spend a little bit more on your wine keeping in mind that trading up needn’t mean shelling out. Try something new; new varieties, new styles, new producers & new frontiers. Often that’s where you’ll find some of the most exciting wines – not to mention the best value for money. Pay more attention to what you eat – it’s a great way to learn about food and wine matching. Visit a vineyard, ask lots of questions, do a wine course with a friend, start a wine club, make friends with the person standing behind the counter of your local bottle shop, read, talk, laugh, but most importantly, resolve to finish this year knowing a little bit more about wine than you did twelve months earlier. As resolutions go, it’s not a bad one!
